of course I think its them!
I turn up at our yard today with my daughter and her friend
New people at yard
Their 10 y/o daughter falls on foot
she's lying in wet in middle of our menage so I wander in and she says she has hurt her knee cos my daughter is calling for help
ask child where her parents are - at home
they'd dropped her off and left a 10 year old at the yard for the day
against our yard rules btw
so I check kid and knee seems ok - sore but OK so my daughter and her friend help her in the hay barn which is dry and I say call your Dad - I don't have his number
When they turn up I am NOT impressed when I get questioned as to how it happend and "she'd better be ok for pony club camp next week"
I think they are totally wrong for leaving a 10 year old at yard unaccompanied and I really don't think its my business to tell her what she can and can't do when she is there tbh
I checked her briefly and she seemed OK so I just left her on a chair to rest it
parents seemed to infer (and it could be me seeing things that aren't there) that somehow I should have a) stopped it happening and b) that I should have done more when she tripped over
I was not there to look after their kid - I didn't know she was on her own - and I did check she was OK and told her to call her Dad
I didn't want to have the responsibility of her - they didn't ask me to keep an eye on her!
in my view, she shouldn't have been left by them - full stop
normally I wouldn't even be there at that time but was waiting for my Mum to bring cash to give my friend for Hoys tickets - that's it!
not a flaming baby sitting service
but they seem to think as I was an adult there - I should have looked out for her
my view is - she's your kid and I am not there to babysit
I did check her and told her to call her Dad - I don't have his number and more importantly I didn't have my phone on me!
I feel quite :stomp: - when I am up at yard, I don't want to be worrying about opk (other people's kids ) as I have enough to worry about with my own!
