Charlie has switched from haylage back to hay. It has made SOOOO much difference. Hurray, I have my sweet natured calm ponio back!

But he is very unimpressed. He refused to eat it for the first day and a half! I put 4 more piles in his field today for him and Thyme. He went up to each pile, stuck his nose in then walked right through it to the next pile, kicking it about!!!

Pony equivalent of throwing your baby-rice on the floor coz you want a biscuit, I guess :redcarded:

Once he had established that every pile was indeed hay, not haylage he just looked mournfully at me. Awww. But I refuse to relent. It's like rocket fuel for him.

He he he !!!!!! Little horrors at times aren`t they.

I suppose it`s like taking away sweeties and offering vegetables :giggle:

Hope he`s settled down and his happy with his hay now lol

Yes he finally got the message today and began to eat it immediately. Nothing like 3 days semi starvation to bring a stubborn horse round!

(I did the same with all my kids when they were little and refused to eat normal food. What a meanie!)

A few people say that haylage sends horses off trolley. It has more water but more sugar then
