last year my boy came to me unshod....unshod all his life and had lovely rounded hard feet...

was fine all winter ...and fine up till now!

the last 2 weeks he's chipped he's feet in 3 places ( i mean large triangle shaps missing!)

he's on hoof harderner and biotin is not ridden on the road ... hasnt been ridden on hard ground at all.....

im a bit worried as to whats going on... any ideas/tips/suggestions???

i dont want them to deteriate as hes happy barefoot, and i dint want to go putting shoes on to find he hates it have them taken off to find hes then foot sore! any non drastic suggestions!

If you are in the UK it's probably the weather! We've had a very dry spring followed with loads of rain - add that to no work on a hard surface, could be a cause of chipping. Unless it's causing your horse to be sore don't worry. Flare promotes this sort of thing so it'd be worth getting him trimmed again

Chipping is OK, as long as the "right" bits are chipping off, I gather ;). Have a look at some pictures and guides to angles, etc, on the barefoot sites and see how your lad compares.
