im planning on getting a grazing muzzle for the fat boy, he is 15.2 cob, but has a HUGE head so not sure to go for cob size or the larger one? also, how do i make it more comfy for him as have been told they can cause sores around their muzzle?
I personally use a full size one on my cob, cob sized ones have a tendency to cause chin rubs on her. I've found spraying the inside of the muzzle with mane and tail conditioner on a regular basis really helped as far as keeping rubs at bay.
You can protect the cheek pieces and round the rim with wool, fleece or even electrical tape if they're susceptible to rubs there.
thanks shall get a full size then! i think im going to get a shires one as thats what nearest tack shop has! lol not sure how long to keep it on for as he is out 24/7 until november
