I had my lesson yesterday and it lashed it down and I was quickly soaked to the skin! My boots have dried with yakky white patches on them (salt?)
Any ideas how best to get rid of them?

Have you tried just wiping over with a damp cloth? that would be my first port of call, then treat them with some kind of balm (as opposed to wax or oil)

Wiping them over has reduced it a bit, thanks @Jessey. Will let them dry, give them another wiping over and then treat only suitable thing I have got is saddle soap, but am thinking that will be as good as anything!

Yes saddle soap is probably the best thing to lift the grot/stain :)
