We had more fun doing jumpies this weekend and my little Tigger was certainly bouncing all the way

Firstly we had a brilliant lesson on Friday - Instructor has noted Safi's yeehaa / whoohoo attitude to jumping and says that the only way to stop her and make her think is to throw her technical grids and bounces and whack 'em up over her (well my) comfort zone.
He has no doubts that she'll jump them so long as I don't mess it up (remember this is me...I don't *do* jumping)

As we worked through and he suddenly started doing just that I was getting just a teeny bit nervous

Ended up with a canter pole, 2'6 straight bar, canter pole, 3' parallel, canter pole combo......first time we did it she almost whacked the brakes on at the parallel but put in one of her mahooosive leaps to clear it....I just yelled " oh F*******k!!!!" as we sailed over it and everyone fell about laughing

She finished off popping over them like they weren't there - and it felt absolutely brilliant - she was flying

So full of new found "we can do this" confidence we went out to do some more baby minimus jumping at Longwood on Saturday

Got a clear round in the clear round and then a double clear in the mini novice - so our first 1st / red rosette for jumpies!!
I thought the jumps were going to be bigger - so we did have a repeat of the whoohoo lets go and all I could do was steer her round at high speed. You could almost hear Safi yippee -I -yaying her way round. Lots more schooling required

It was quite amusing getting to the first fence though, Saf was going to jump every fence we trotted past...This one Mum??....Oooh this one?? and then we had Ooh admirers in the gallery look at me and went the entire length of it sideways But we got there in the end

Flying round - I think she's enjoying herself

Safi was thoroughly pleased with herself and stood beautifully square in the presentation (hmmph...how come her dressage halts are all wonky donkey then eh?? )

Then just to confirm to everyone in attendance that she is a drama queen extraordinaire she threw in a few leaps and tanked off in the lap of honour......So I give in, stuff the mild bit, she's being jumped in her pelham from now on!

We'll be aiming for bigger and better next time too -Just need to get her over fillers and the like and we can try a proper little course sometime soon.

:D Well done, it actually looked like a nice calm round (probably didn't feel like that tho!)

She wasn't excited at the first jump she just wanted everyone to see how gorgeous she is;)
