Bixby and DJ have their own Diary and Minnie has her own super lengthy diary ...so here is mine!
I am getting a divorce and with 3 horses to care for that can be pretty scary.
I gave up my career when I had my kids -who are now ages 5 and 8- so for many years is was financially dependent on my husband.
Six years or so ago I started a little business from home though and it has steadily grown.
Last year I also found a business partner in Germany that needed my assistance to get FDA approval in the USA for a medical device they were manufacturing. Once that happens I was promised sole distributorship for the entire US!
My main concern in divorce was always the kids and being able to provide for the horses.
This year I finally felt financially ready to take the plunge.
We have started divorce proceedings.
In the decree my ex is asking for truck and trailer and I am left with a 13 year old sedan. And once I pay for all the expenses there won't be much left.
But I will get to keep the horses and that is all that matters.
In fact I even bought his horse from him yesterday for a dollar. Bixby will stay here with us.
Today was a super happy day for me.
I had a rancher come by to see if he can deliver hay to me and it turns out that for the same price I would pay at the feedstore he will deliver it and stack it in the barn!
I don't need a man. And I don't need a truck! I CAN DO THIS!
My first delivery will arrive here Monday.
After 1 year of coordinating lab testing and FDA regulations I also just heard from our reviewer that they are ready to clear the medical device for sale in the US.
Based on my own little business I could have made it but just barely scraped by. This news means that financially it will be a lot less iffy. What a relief!
So right now everything is looking good.
Two major factors could still screw things up:
OH decides that he won't let me buy the house. Right now he is okay with it but he changes his moods so much. If I need to move to a new place it will be tough to find anything as well suited as this and still be able to afford it.
Some freak problem pops up with the FDA between today and next week and they don't issue clearance.
So wish me luck girls! I am looking forward to my single rancher girl days
