to the ground being hard to lie on but not liking being stabled is to climb onto the pile where the yard owner has emptied the poo picker and lie on that. He looked very happy and comfortable, I was less impressed! Fortunately the spell of hot dry weather means it's bone dry and doesn't smell.
 
@Jane&Ziggy like Luka I bet he'd think it was very considerate of the YO to put a nice soft bed in his field rather than making him lie on the hard ground šŸ˜‚
 
While I have a phone that takes photos I only have it with me on days I'm riding, I prefer my little near antique one. Plus his reaction on being caught was such that even if I'd had it I wouldn't have been quick enough - can't have the food provider kept waiting!

In 19 months of ownership I have not seen Sid lying down ever, but I bet this is what he would do if he did.
I've only seen Hogan lying down once in 4 years. Ramsey had to be hauled up - he was so chilled, I could go over, put his headcollar on and sit beside him.
