Could be nothing, could be something.
The vet did notice that one of her ovaries didn't look the same as the other one. It could be normal for her, or it could be the start of a tumour.

Wait and see time.

What prompted the ultrasound? Hopefully they get them back to you quickly, what turnaround time did they expect? It might be interesting and explain why she struggles so much when in season.

She's come into season and she's on the regumate. That raised a red flag with the vet as 95% of horses don't.
Scan was to rule out issues before increasing the dose. We might have an issue and it would make perfect sense while she struggles poor lass.

She's 16.

One vet looking at the scans thinks it's showing something abnormal.
They are referring to the vet who specializes in reproduction for a second opinion.
While first vet was there I got blood so they can see if there could be the start of anything.
If all okay she needs a stronger dose.

As an aside how many people know that a mare has a c l i t o r i s.
I don't know why my brain decided that only humans would have that. Then, neither the mare or the stallion probably knows or even cares.
Mine just wants boys!!!

Results are back.

One of the tests they did looking for tumours was higher than the normal 0.3 but lower than 6. It was 4.6 and I have forgotten the name already!!!
What this means is -

It's unlikely she has a tumour.
What's been seen on the scan and the 4.6 could actually be her normal.
It's worth repeating the test before the Spring season.

I am to increase the meds to 12ml, let her have a season when it runs out, monitor and manage.
