So yesterday my boss massively misjudged the first fence in her jump-off and gave us a fine display of stunt riding as she took off way earlier than the horse, although Tricks being so genuine jumped it anyway (and beautifully too!). This is a trick my boss has been perfecting over the years ;) Who thinks she came off, who thinks she stayed on... who thinks something else happened?

Well, although it seems impossible to me that she could come back from that ... I'm guessing Tricks puts his head up and tips her back into the saddle!

ETA Great pics BTW!

That's sad xD Did she fall off? I can see shes off the saddle and out of the stirrups...so I'm guessing she fell..xD Haha good post!

That is how I fell off last week. Was along the ponies neck and couldnt get back. And if analised according to our RI, your pic shows rider's head to the left which means that unless she re-centres her head over the centre of the horse's spine, she will roll off to the left. Our RI is always telling us how much our heads weigh and that as long as we keep our head central, we wont fall. I knew that but when one is lying along the neck of the horse it isnt so easy as ones weight may feel to be on one's chest. That is what I experienced anyway.

I'm another who's guessing that Tricks gave your boss a heads up and she landed safely back in the saddle.
Amazing pictures as always Joosie.

Stayed.
The right arm is counterbalancing the fact she is slightly to the left. The left arm slots down so she doesn't fly off anymore forwards than that.

My guess anyway.

Unless trixy bumped her back on..If the RI Slid back, she would hit the front of the saddle..Then she would be sitting on the neck..and would probably fall off xD

Well Bodshi is right - but Tricks didn't just put her head up to get my boss back in the saddle, she practically threw her back in! I've heard of horses who "save" their riders but never seen it in the flesh, not quite like this anyway! It took my boss a few seconds to sort herself out but the only moment Tricks broke out of canter was when she chucked her back on and then they managed to carry on as normal. Unfortunately they had one down so didn't get placed but their time was only 4 seconds slower than the winner, despite their little mishap. Is a good pony our Tricks!
