I can't say much as it's a mess and there may yet be action taken, but tonight the yard lost a very sweet horse after days of fighting for him. Thank goodness for a caring yard owner who did all the things his owner should have but didn't, it's just heartbreaking that she wasn't in a position to end his suffering sooner.

So many of us are upset, the yard will be a sad place tomorrow even though there will be an air of relief too.

Sleep tight darling, many of us cared about you xx

I think there's a large group of us who'd cheerfully kill his owner if only we could, no horse should be left like that for as long as he was but it seems the criteria for a vet to call it on welfare grounds are truly desperate. Still he's at peace now, that's the only consolation we have.

I feel wiped out today, didn't even feel like riding despite it being a lovely day.

Oh, I just saw your post on the other thread. Poor, poor horse. Very upsetting for all of you who cared. Hugs x

don't know what happened but sad nevertheless. When I shared a horse, his owner neglected him, i bought him rugs, paid for extra feed for him. She was a sloane ranger with a coke habit, horses looked fine till you took their rugs off. In the end he was sold, I didn't buy him as couldn't justify full livery to ride twice a week, but he went to a very good home where hopefully he stayed
