So, after careful consideration, I have bought the Weatherbeeta ComFiTec Plus Dynamic II Lightweight 0g High Neck Turnout Rug - ON SALE - https://www.equus.co.uk/collections...-high-neck-turnout-rug?variant=39418386579499

And I am going to send it to a nice lady in Wales who is going to rip off all the buckles on the straps and change them for quick release ones.

I think this is the best I can do for the old man.

if it is a success, I will buy a second rug and send it south, plus some rugs for the old Shetland ladies and ditto on the breakaway straps. They don't live by the house, they would hate to come inside and they lost weight last winter.
