Is it possible to use polework exercises in the horses 'other' gait?

Obviously I can still do all the normal walk and canter polework exercises. But is there anything which I can use for my horse's gait (Paso Corto) like raised poles etc to get him using his back end more, and getting a bit more elevation in his legs?

Have tried using one pole, fine we can cope with that, but any more and we apparently *have* to jump them...

Wondering if there is anything I'm missing in terms of distance between poles etc? Or is pole work just a no-no??

Any help/speculation greatly appreciated :)

VERY hard for them to do pole work in a lateral movement. Some of ours manage it but it's quite incorrect.

Iris said to us if we do raised poles in the other gaits it would help improve the action of the others. Also gaiting on a circle, then yeilding into a smaller circles then yeilding out again helps....but we tend to just fall over and get our legs in a muddle :p
