I was very nervous as Joy was being shod by a new farrier today.

I really liked my old one although I felt he wasn't very flexible and thought that all horses should be shod and in natural balance shoes.

This new one was brill. :D

Firstly he actually arrived and on time

Secondly he had a flexible attitude and wanted to find out what would suit Joy and I. He didn't use natural balance shoes and couldn't see why she needed them. I reserve judgement on that until after I have had her under saddle.

Thirdly he is pro-barefoot wherever posible and bought the topic up himself.

Forthly he was £13 cheaper

I hope that Joy's way of going reflects my faith in my new farrier, only time will tell :)

brill. its lovely when you find a good one isn't it! i nearly keeled over when our old one whipped his diary out and asked me when was best for *me* for his next visit!
