Well I'm looking into my noseband options after Peds attempted to take off with me twice out hacking yesterday and succeeded once!! Not fun!
When I applied the breaks (and then the emergency stop!) His head came up, mouth open. His head was so high that my hand was near enough on the bit trying to turn him. He's such a wriggly snake that he just contorted himself so he was speeding along with his head bent to the side but still going forwards!! (I did manage to stop him before we hit the road thankfully!!)
So I'm thinking of trying a drop noseband (or possibly a flash as that might be easier to get my hands on) to stop him from opening his mouth.
I have the vet coming this afternoon to check his teeth as I don't want to strap his mouth shut if there is anything going on there.
