this makes me laugh we have mares n geldings split on our yard and in our field all ours have mens names we have hughy harry phil jake george ruphert john n ryan :giggle:

We have quite a few with boys names, but nothing quite as mundane as John or Phil:frown: What sort of names are they for a horse? :D

Phil is apropriate as it means horse lover :inlove: Dryad had a horse called Steve and we have a Jack.:smoke:

I think Jack is quite a popular name for a gelding..
David and Kelly (he was a gelding by the way!).. I think they're unusual names

Phil is apropriate as it means horse lover :inlove: Dryad had a horse called Steve and we have a Jack.:smoke:

It only means horse-lover if it's short for Philip: phil meaning lover, and hip from Greek hippos, meaning horse ...

I have a Barney - lots of them about - but mine's real name is Barnstormer.

Our Jacks full name is Leninhall Jack of Diamonds he was a stallion for 5 years. My mates horse is Denzal and I use to ride a litle pony called Bob:giggle:

I like proper names for animals.:D

I've got Chester, George, Stella and Morgan (cats), Arnie (horse) and Eric (dog). And various others with more normal pet names;)
