I'm going to make a thread to share jumping photos. I am in love with jumping again after 8 years of not loving jumping!

Sometimes I'll just put photos or video stills up, sometimes I'll put links to youtube vids of us jumping, and sometimes I'll put show/event photos up and other times I might add some text about how we went on a certain day.

Let's start with today (23rd February, 2013).

We started with some crosspoles of about 40cm. After we did this (and me going :frown::unsure:), I finally kicked myself up the backside, told myself to get over it and RIDE HIM FORWARD!

And we got this!

Rather embarrassing, but on the video you can hear me exclaiming to Cheeky, "We're BACK!"

We are off to a show jumping competition tomorrow afternoon. Just 50, 60 and 75cm, but really excited about it!

Oh wow, well done to both of you. You both look like your having so much fun. I really hope you have a fab day tomorrow.

I really wish I had the guts to get back into jumping, I used to really love it and regularly jump and xc, but it scares the :poop: out of me now. I did try and have some jumping lessons and did a xc training session when I bought my boy, but I just don't feel comfortable anymore.

well done, it's amazing what giving yourself a talk to can do - i did that with Suze, told myself to be more assertive and positive and demanding and she is giving more!

Looking really good ! I have kinda been the same as yourself and I am enjoying jumping again (shhh I am 43 and u kind of loose confidence, not the same bravado as when i was younger ) but I dont go to big  cause I know it is so easy to knock my confidence again. Love that you can wear a T-shirt ......oh roll on summer

And some of him getting his rosettes (yes! not just long ribbons!).

Look smug with his red first:

Looking a little less than impressed with his yellow third:Third? Seriously? But I jumped PERFECTLY and Debs actually had some guts in that round!

He's a crazy beast!

Hmmm. Yep, I'm awesome.

Still awesome.

They have no idea! Yum, yum, I'll mess up the third place rosette and maybe they'll give me my rightful first place one!

What? Well? Aren't you going to complain and get that other red one?

ODE Photos!
We are almost in drought here - not a drop of rain for weeks. Until this morning. I think Waiuku may have been getting some rain though as it is a lot greener there than anywhere else.

Andy and I looked at each other when I asked whether we'd need rain coats, laughed and said, "Nah!"

Of course we tempted fate and a much needed, drenching heavy drizzle came over. We did a very soggy dressage test. Not only soggy, but lazy and Cheeky grumbled (I mean actually made groaning noises) at me the whole test. Finished 7th with a starting score of 39 (61%).

Finally, I actually felt excited about cross country! He went around really calmly, came back to hand easily around the bumpy bits and finished with one stop (no impulsion, my fault) and one run out (I'm mad at myself as I knew he would when I walked it).

well done both of you! you jinxed yourself walking the course didn't you?

He is great for his age and i adore his expression, it's lovely to see a horse going like this, no gadgets!

Cheeky was amazing. Just awesome. One stupid stop at the first fence of the show jumping because I was asleep. Then clear. Best dressage ever with 77% and we were second in that. Then a wonderful, wonderful clear cross country ride. We would have been second overall if we'd been clear in the show jumping, but I'm delighted with 3rd overall! Our best one day event results ever!
