Is measuring from one side of the mouth to the other and then adding 1/4" on each side (1/2" total) still the correct way to measure for bits?
If I measure with a caliper from one corner of her mouth to the other I get a little over 5 1/2" across. Sort of like a 5.62". Should I round up to 5.75 and then add 1/2" to make her bit size 6.25? Or go with 6.00?
Actually I just looked at the draft horse bit site and my choices are only in 1/2" increments for 6.00 or 6.5.
