Don't know if all 8's are the same but my daughter has size 8 Roekl *sp* and her hands are a ladies small to medium I would say

I'm in an 8 I've got small hands but long fingers! Love mine and have totally worn through the fingers my reins sit in, but I have had them 3 years!

Cracking gloves - they come in standard glove sizes but tend to come up a bit small. You can google glove sizing and get your measurements,
