Further to my thread regarding limited turnout on our current yard, I have been looking for a new yard.
I looked at one on Friday and it was quite nice but too far away to be on DIY.
However, I went to check out a new yard today. I really like it but due to my limited experience, I want to run it past you guys to see what you think.
15 mins from my house
I will be getting him turned out, that is at 8am and they come in around 4pm (I will do that) 7 days a week. They are out 24/7 in summer months.
12ft x 12ft stables with rubber matting, automatic drinkers (they were frozen but working again now)
A tack room that I would share with 3 others, feed room.
They can supply ad lib haylage for £10 per week (good quality too, I checked it out)
Lovely all weather arena and various instructors visit. You can bring your own but I dont have one ( My current YO teaches me)
Superb off road hacking
Really friendly liveries, The YM left me chatting away to some of them!
I also have loads of hay, haylage and shavings that they will allow me to store too.
They cant transport him for insurance reasons but they can give me numbers.
I think I may have a winner!
What are we thinking? I think Caymen would fit in really well. He would go in with the yard owners mares as she would like a gelding in with them. If that does not work out for any reason, he will be out in another mixed herd.
I'm so excited but I dont want to rush into making a decision so I'm going to visit a 2 other yards in my area so I can compare them.
Kinda pointless post but just had to share
