Today me and Ted had our first ever planned gallop on a stubble field. I have been quite scared about galloping, so I said to the person I ride today 'Lets go for a gallop', so I can get used to it, stop worrying and start enjoying myself.
I was expecting Ted to get very overexcited and have no breaks/steering, as past experiences have been out of control and panicky.
In reality he was a total star. Kept up with other pony but didn't race, no rein contact needed at all, and slowed down when she did.
I had an amazing time and pulled up grinning like a loon and giving Ted a series of huge pats!! Ted loved it too - his ears were pricked and he was having such fun.
Both ponies then made their way home calmly, without getting excited.
I love this new yard and I LOVE my boy.
