Following on from this thread http://www.newrider.com/forum/showthread.php?t=214522 Jm fially seems to have got over his worries, relaxed & started going forwards. Very forwards! Today all he wanted to do was play & find excuses to canter - this is the horse that early in May looked like he might not make it or, if he did, might never be sound following laminitis & x-rays that showed dropping & rotation. It didn't seem to be bothering him today

The outline isn't as flashy as in the earlier clip, but he's far more relaxed & this is far more suitable for his level of fitness (or lack of). A bit more of this & he'll be strong enough to pick up more, until then I'm happier with him lower, working from behind & over his back. Oh & the snatching in trot is an old Jimmy trick - it's his way of saying "look mum I've stretched so can we please get on with something that's fun? Now?!". Next step is spooks across the school until I pick up the contact & play *lol*

I'm really pleased with him, I hope you agree that he's finally looking happier in his work. Boy do I ache though, nearly half an hour of that trot & canter has definitely took it's toll on me!

Finally got them to load - he's looking really well CH. Hard to believe you've nearly lost him so many times this year. He is looking very perky there - fair bouncing along:). He looks so much more relaxed doesnt he?

Carthorse, how lovely it is to read this thread.

I'm totally with you. For me too the focus has to be the relaxing of my horse. Joy does a beautiful outline going past scarey things but the key is to get her doing so naturally with little intervention from me.

I'm so pleased you're making progress with Jim and I truly admire your attitude.

Thanks guys :cloud9:

Lovalithere isn't really anything to look for, I was just so pleased that he's finally chilling out & enjoying being ridden again. So nothing technical at all, just a happy pony & happy mum!
