I am on a confidence high at the moment and it's great
I've learnt a lot from the 28 days book (only half way through) and through reading lots on here, and the hacking challenge has helped keep me going when feeling wobbly! So massive thanks to all of you, for your support and sharing your confidence wobbles.
I now can identify when I start to get tense and can relax my tense muscles, before Peds acts up on them which makes me nervous! If he starts to feel tense I make sure my seat is relaxed and I have a light contact on the rein, before I would have shortened my reins up and braced, waiting for the worst!
I'm really enjoying cantering him! Out hacking, we don't have many places suitable for a canter (most of our tracks are stoney) but we are making the most of the places we do have
and it will soon be stubble time! So I want to be confident cantering when that comes about! (Stubble was a factor in me loosing my confidence with him!)
I also love love love our new saddle! I feel so secure in it! Today when we were cantering I had to duck for most of the canter as the trees and bushes along the track have seriously gotten over grown! So I was leaning forward, crouched down, head near his shoulder and tilted to the side so I could see! I felt so safe and secure! And he was fair whizzing along!
I look forward to riding now, and if the little thoughts slip into my head I just tell them to go away and don't let them build up.
So, again, a huge Thankyou to everyone on here. You have all helped me get here, and hopefully I will build on where I am, but if I slip I know you will all be here to comfort and support.
End of sappy thread!!! Lol!
