After a few months of horse hunting I finally found my new man ! He's a 15.3 Irish Imported Cob, and he's 8 years old. I brought him purely for hacking so I can join my husband out on hacks and so I can have a bit of fun as well.
Well we hitched our trailer up at 8 and met his old owners at his yard, they had been there awhile and had already said their goodbyes. They'll be coming to visit in a couple of weeks. He loaded like a star, travelled really well, when it came to unloading him, I thought he would probably be a bit strong coming off, but was lovely and waited quite patiently til the partition was fully moved out of the way and then we decided to introduce him to the 'Boss' through the fence :
Thought this one was quite sweet,
They were soon bored of each other though and he continued to graze in his own little field (our fields each have their own 'holding pen' so you can feed, tack up/groom away from the other horses and there is ample room to have anywhere upto 4 horses in there at one time (here was me being worried that when I turned him out there would be fireworks, but they all just milled around each other to start off with )
He went off with a purpose though to go say hello to everyone
A little bit of squealing but there was no kicking by anyone. However we shall see tmw what kind of state he is in, if he tried his luck with anyone !
Saying hello to a new field mate :
Meeting the neighbours :
Time to introduce hubby's gelding to the field, that's when there was a little bit of excitement and hubby managed to take this picture, I think it's a fab pic
More to come ...
