Ideas on how to keep hay safe from theft ?

If and this is a big if, I have to buy in some hay this year, I dont have anywhere very secure to put it, (only the unsecure hay barn) but I dont trust other people from not helping themselves :stomp:

I can see if I were to buy in a bale or two a big tarp over it and a padlock through some of the eyelets would keep it safe, but does anyone have any suggestions on how to keep a larger number of bales secure and thief proof ?

Could you keep it at home in a garage or garden and just take up a bale when you need it?

Do you mean from those around you or people coming and stealing a few bales in a van?....

If it's the later cutting them all open might put someone off of loading them up and taking them away - only problem is you are then stuck with a load of open bales if you need to move them far to use them... :furious:
