I don't know if this is because I have unusually bad balance, or because I'm using bad technique -- or don't know what I'm supposed to be doing, exactly.
I CAN do what might be called a "3-point" where I lightly rest my pubic bone on the front of the saddle. I've heard some call this a half-seat, although most people use half-seat to mean 2-point.
Try this experiment and tell me what happens. Stand on a stair or step-stool with knees bent. No problem balancing, right? Now gradually move your feet back so that less and less of your foot is supported. Also, allow your ankles to relax so that your heels drop. At some point, you (I, at least) can no longer balance. Isn't this what is being asked of one in the 2-point?
(I can balance for a couple of seconds, but not much longer.)
