How to get started? Lessons Essex?

Hi,
I have been thinking for a while that I would love to have a go at driving, I am new to riding lessons and while I enjoy them I personally think I would prefer to learn to drive.
The difficulty I am having is finding somewhere (preferably local to Romford in essex) that offers driving lessons.
So I am asking for advice really, on the best ways of getting into driving, and whether anyone can recommend anywhere to have lessons?
