Home made hay bars?

I'm considering getting Pete a hay bar, but they are quite expensive, so just wondering if anyone has made their own?

It does need to be quite robust, as Pete can be quite the thug on occasion!

I have seen them made from a sheet of ply cut to a triangle and screwed to the wall in a corner with a reinforcing batten screwed either side of the top edge to make a robust structure. Shouldn't cost more than a tenner to make!

Yes I had one my dad made and it as just as effective as a plastic one but he put hooks for me to place a Haynets down inside to stop the greedy one scoffing too quickly.

You can sometimes pick them up second hand on gumtree or preloved.

I used a square bit of ply, stuck it across the corner and nailed a couple of little bits of wood to the wall to hold it in but still let it be removed to sweep out the bottom, it worked great.
I did see at YHL there was someone making a heavy net collapsible hay bar type thingy, i can't remember the name tho
