hi, here is a pic of my new pony, 3 yrs old, blind in his right eye, and top of the heap over two mares, even the 15 hand draft cross.
I think the other two have no idea he has a vision problem. I've noticed that he sets himself up with a fenceline along his vision-impaired side, and then swings his rump around and double barrels them! It is pretty funny watching him run the show. The Haflinger mare keeps trying to interest him in breeding but he is a gelding.
He was started in driving but after pulling for a while he will throw his head up into the air, fling it down hard and start to thrashing about. Do you think he would do better with an open bridle? I am not going to do anything with him this year, when he is four we will start from scratch.
