Two years ago in july, my horse started bad with his breathing and coughing, the sharer had at the time been ragging him round fields, which I stopped when I found out.. I've since got it under control, and for the last 18mths he's been ok, though coughing now and again, until last october when he seemed to make a complete recovery, he has been back on straw since the end of nov, and dry hay without any problems until now.
I moved him up to glossop two weeks ago, and he has been out on part loan since the day he arrived. Today, she came back from a half hour hack, and he started coughing.. I asked her if he'd done it before, and she said he did it the day before after the ride, not during. Is this exercise related, as up until 2 weeks ago he was ridden maybe once a week for half an hour, where as now he's been out nearly every day?
I'm putting him on a herbal breathing liquid, that has helped in the past.
The other question I'm asking is could the stress of moving yards be the catalyst to him starting coughing again?
