Hello all. I haven't been on here for ages because in November last year I got caught in a food fight between Sid and Sonne and was kicked again, by Sid this time. The same leg as last time! He broke my knee in two places and gave me a spiral fracture of the femur from knee to hip. Honestly, it wasn't his fault. I was unwary and foolish not to have got away from them immediately.
I had to admit that after 3 horse related broken bones in 5 years I don't seem to be cut out for horse keeping so Sid went on loan to my very good friend and former field mate, we thought to be her younger daughter's Pony Club pony. He was perfect for 3 months then started to indicate that he prefers an adult rider. Daughter still rides him, especially for hacking, but he can take the piss a bit with her in the school, which he never does with an adult. My friend rides him and loves him and whenever she has visitors or a friend without a horse they borrow him and they all love him. He is perfect on the ground. BUT he is awful with fencing - I knew that, she knew that, but her husband can't stand it (or Sid). So I need to find another home for him, permanently this time, I fear.
Would any of you like a 14.3 cob, with innumerable good points but a couple of bad points - a serial fence trasher and a horse with a complex, Victor Meldrew character? I know I could sell him for good money but I really don't want to, I don't want him to go to a stranger, I want him to go to the right home and be happy.
Any thoughts or advice gratefully received!
