Hi....ive a new tb......ive noticed that wen cantering/galloping he puts his head right down!!!....is it just to go faster????....is this normal????.....

Maisie always liked to canter with her head right down. That's why OH hated riding her. He called her a bike with no handle bars. It was possible to canter Maisie "properly" with contact and holding her head higher as instructed by one really good RI. But she much preferred to fly along unhampered and towards the end of her working life, I just let her as it kept up both happy.
My horse likes to canter/gallop flat out with his head down when he tanks off with me! ok f I go with him but took many many lessons to make him realise that flat out is not the only option
