Has anyone tried that non-slip car boot mat (pic) stuff to stop a saddle slipping?

....I have an Impakt pad which does the job (my saddle slips to the right) but is a bit too small really.

Anyway, I went to a local tack shop and saw some pads that looked like the non-slip mats you can get for crafts or lining car boots (but the horse ones cost £13.50) - so I went to local £1.00 shop and bought two rolls of the liner.

Looks like this:

It's very soft and tacky but leaves no residue or anything. So the plan is to sandwich my numnah between two pieces (like you do with those Prolite anti-slip mats).

Has anyone else tried it?

Yep, I tried it - worked a treat.... cut it to numnah size but then I got hold of a couple of Thorowgood saddle pads which have the rubber on the underside anyway.
