I will be getting the vet

I found a hard bony lump on Libby's lower jaw yesterday

She doesn't seem to mind if you touch it

Dentist last out in October and due again May

Any ideas what it may be?

Thanks

A friends horse has a tooth which has grown outwards and has created a lump. It now stucks out about an inch and is very visable, but doesn't cause any problems at all.

Ben also once bashed his jaw on the stable door and a small lump formed, but it was nothing to worry about.

I hope that all is well with your horse.

Is it a youngster? I can't remember what they are called but they often get them as the teeth start errupting then they settle back down after a while (think months/years not days) they are under the jaw, and aren't normally sore and can be poked and prodded without issue.

It's rock hard and feels like bone protruding from the bone. Perhaps pea size

She's eating and drinking fine and generally seems fine

No she isn't a younster

I've rung vet and they are coming Tuesday it's zone day so won't pay a call out and I think it's ok to wait till then

I have felt lots of bony jaws over the years, none of them came to anything.
