Hacking a younger horse out in a fast group...

Max was in front when they were racing because he was fastest. There were other ponies he left behind as I think you can see from the pictures if you look carefully. For the first lap he was and stayed behind as that lap was testing their control before being allowed to race a lap. I have already said I won't be hunting him yet and will be going out in smaller groups.

Mine used to think grass tracks meant 'gallop' - which also took me by surprise when I first got her. She doesn't do that now - actually it was quite easy to change her mindset on that through repetition. She also likes to take the lead, will race other horses and can be hard to stop (although is fine if she's on her own). I've never managed to train that out of her!
