I seem to scrub my troughs non-stop, but I just read an article about putting barley straw in a net in the bottom of the trough to prevent algae growth, aparently you can buy premade straw logs in pond shops, has anyone tried them?

Mine don't seem too bad. All I can think of when anyone mentions algae is my mum religiously cleaning the fish tanks out when we were kids lol I remember being told strictly not to touch the buckets that the fish were placed in whilst she cleaned the tanks.......sorry waffling ......
