"there's a dead pony on the road....."

So in my state I am not fit to go gallivanting, so made a few inquiries as to the phone number of the person whose pony it was likey to be, Work or mobile no, as there was no answer at the house.

After a while of messages back and forth there was some worry the the pony may still be alive, so grabbed gun and got son to run me out there, The pony was dead. with a horrible compound fracture of the humerus.

Turns out the police had called the owner and told them the pony had been hit last night, but it was on its feet, (how they missed its leg on backwards beggars belief) The owner didn't go out and check and seems to have just left it to die horribly.

I think I may have seen the council boys on their way to the scene.

What a horrible way to let your pony die. I am so angry nothing was done.

OMG that's horrible. How can anyone just leave an injured animal to suffer like that. How awful :-(

This story reminds of that one in America that was left for dead.
He made a full recovery but the story is equally disgusting.

That's disgusting, how can the owners live with themselves? Is there anyone they could be reported to? Poor pony :(

How very sad, poor wee mite, what a horrible way to die and total shame on the owner, may they never sleep peacefully again!
