Any advice/tips welcome.

Im planning to arrive at least an hour early so that I could help out with the horses.

Want to relearn horse care and stable skills (I have gone rusty) in return, should I let them know that in return for giving my free time.

Also hope to meet kids that sign language may be of some use, I would be willingly to teach kids and staff basic sign language if they are interested.
(Im a sign language tutor)

Hey, I help out at RDA once a week and i really enjoy it... everyone is really friendly and its a great way to get back into horseyness!.. its quite different from normal leading at riding schools etc as you have to be aware of everything that is going on and the first couple of sessions i had to watch, may be different where you are going!

Hope you have a good time.! :)

I started volunteering in September and all the volunteers had to go through a 1/2 day training session.

I always get there at least a half hour early since there is always something to do. We can get the horses in, groom, tack and warm them up, organize any props that will be used in the lessons, look up the bio of the students who will be riding, etc.

I have helped out for one child who could sign and had fogotten almost all that I had learned a few years ago!

I'm sure you will be a great asset to the school with that skill.
