He behaved beautifully. Didn't seem in the least footsore when I turned him out. Be interesting to see how he is on gravel when we next go out.

Just shows how good my farrier is - he doesn't stand for any nonsense, but he says it's obvious Hogan's got away with things in the past, so he seems to have adopted just the right approach. From rearing and barging the first few times, he's really good now, and he barely had enough sedative to make any difference. I shall now save the sedative for the dentist....... I however, shall keep taking the rescue remedy!
