On 13 April it was my Ziggyversary - I have had him four years.

Here he is the first time I met him, muddy legged and miserable in the dealer's yard:

And the day he came home - so dappley! Such black legs! He is almost white now.

Recovering from colic surgery 2 years ago - still quite dappley...

16hh high, being groomed by a 7 year old at the ODE fun day last year:

Little Ziggyfeet standing on circus blocks for the remedial farrier:

I have spent £££ on this little horse, what with colic, laminitis and remedial farriery, and I do not regret one single penny. He is the fun, sharp, canny, safe hack I always wanted, brimming with character and inclined to do odd things when he feels the urge. He has taught me how to ride and everything I know about looking after horses. I love him and I know he trusts me. At the ODE Fun Day he was wildly overexcited, and when he was tied to the lorry the window above his head opened and scared him a lot. He spooked hugely and started to pull back. I was 25m away - no chance of reaching him in time - and I saw him spook and called, "Ziggy, it's ok, steady Zigs, just a window."

And he shivered and looked around at me and settled down, and I thought, I think I have bonded with this pony!

Love him :inlove:

You have a lovely, growing relationship and accept each other's foibles, and that's what it's all about. Not just with horsey relationships actually, human ones too!

Awwww. He is a handsome chap! You've definitely both been through so much but it seems things are on the up now for you and I hope it continues.

I got Rubic on the 12th April but 3 years ago. I can't believe how quickly the time has gone!
