For hats that are slightly too big...

What do you use to fill it out a bit? This isn't for a riding hat, and the hat that I need doesn't come in any smaller sizes. It's just a bit loose round the rim and I'm sure there is some kind of band that you can put round it to make it fit better.

Any ideas?

Yeah you can get sticky foam strips to pad out

I have a new hat and it has the fitting strips on it that PFB mentioned.

I also sometimes wear a headband under my hat which makes it really comfy so maybe worth a try. I got mine at Go Outdoors... I had a look on the website but can't find the product to post a link.

Typical after posting this this morning, my mum found a length of that foam tape in a drawer so have padded out the hat and made it fit! I wasn't keen on returning it as it's not easy getting a brown hat in the first place, and this tape is good so far. Next test will be a windy but dry day...!
