Or a horse you ride or handle, I'm not limiting it to owners. However it's got to be one horse, if you want to do it for more than one then they have to have their own five things.

For Little Un:
1) his enthusiasm for life, his glass is always full even if it's only air
2) his ability to make people around him smile or laugh
3) how much he trusts
4) how safe he is, even when he's looking like a totally prat he feels safe
5) his looks, I know it's shallow but he really is a very pretty boy and knows exactly how to use it to get what he wants

For Haakon (old man now retired).

1. His enthusiasm
2. His honesty
3. His total trustworthyness
4. His empathy towards me and my spine
5. His generousness

Klaengur - the Icelandic horse I ride now

1. His willingness
2. His speed
3. His love of people when on the ground
4. His sense of humour - he holds buckets forever. I have no idea why
5. His amazing tölt

The Minions (my 6 rescue Shetland ponies)
1. Their terrible sense of humour
2. Their time keeping - all know to a man when the schools are out!
3. Their ability to make a toy out of anything
4. Their ability to charm the socks off anyone who meets them and possibly blag food
5. Their impeccable behaviour with visitors

Lovely thread idea.

The cob.

1. Her honesty. You might not like what she's thinking, because it's likely about you! but she doesn't keep it to herself.
If you get kicked or bitten (and I have a cracking bruise from when she got the skin in her teeth!) it's your own fault. She warned you, you know about her sessions, you know about her personal space.

2. Her ability to stand and do nothing. She's good at stopping and chatting to tourists, ideal picnic companion, are we stopping yet. Great for the guests to fuss- out of season!

3. The opportunistic aspect of her. When she just decided to stop, drop and roll and I was still on board. How very rude, but typical and out goes the beginners horse award!

4. Her ability to get you to change your mind, because she sure as hell isn't going to change hers. But she's mellowed and we meet half way. Least I am led to believe we do. ;)

5. Because she comes to call and doesn't mind getting this two legged human creation who may fall short on skills and experience sometimes. But like everyone they try to do what they think is the right thing for the four legged creation.

Jess;
Her intelligence, she makes me think of the lead velociraptor from jurassic Park, "when she looks at you, you can see she's working things out" ;)
Her willingness
Her impeccable behaviour (99% of the time)
Her ability to adapt
Her gentleness amidst her toughness

Hank;
His always playing the fool
His handsome face
His complete trust and forgiveness of his previous neglect
How much he tries to please
His cocky, I'm 'the man' attitude

Dan;
His incredibly gentle nature
His tolerance of the other 2
His funny little bug eyes
His ability to learn
His odd whicker (it sounds so mechanical it's very strange)

Storm:
The smell of her muzzle, so beautiful I would bottle it if I could
Her manners when being mauled by the vet, me and OH for various ailments!!!!
Her power eating - got to hand it to her, nothing distracts this girl from her grub lol always cheers me up!
When she's clean in winter (not that often lol) her coat is gorgeous and I call her Swanny. She is a swan to me.
The silvery sheen on the mini feathers she has near her hooves.

Chloe:
Gorgeous big big melting kind eyes
The way in the middle of any kind of stress / mini disaster / gale force / thunderstorm she will always come to the front of the byre with something hanging out of her mouth like Ermintrude. It just settles me right down - all is well - Chloe is eating!
The way she will follow me anywhere and then squeeze into a tiny space together with me, and be mindful
Her loose lips in the sunshine in the mornings hanging over her door
Her trot - it's awesome!

Zi:
Total eye candy. 'nuff said!
The way he will jump out of his skin in his apartment over the tiniest of things - yet hacking he will not move a muscle even in the midst of chaos / cows / drones etc
The fact that he "talks" to us. Little noises and gestures. We understand all of those!
The way he gives me "seaside donkey" face when I ride him. I'm literally just short of one of those metal handle loops to hold on to!
His beautiful Black Beauty impression coming in for his supper from the field - gorgeous!

1. His wiggly nose, he uses his top lip to investigate everything.
2. His whinny, like a hippo.
3. His colour change through the seasons, right now he's a really dark deep auburn.
4. His love of food, hilarious how excited he gets about one grass nut.
5. His character, he's stubborn, clever, sassy, independent and cheeky all in the right measures.
