I've not ridden my new horse Demi on a proper solo hack before, for some insane reason I lost all my hacking confidence!!
I used to go out all the time with my old boy (RIP Funky) but for some reason the idea of hacking alone made me feel sick!
Last Wednesday i rode around the grounds and woods of my new yard alone with Demi, it felt sooo nice to just to amble along with her.
Then yesterday i built up the courage to go out on the roads ALONE!!! i was pooping my pants literally at the thought of it for some reason!?! i don't know why i'm so scared of hacking?!
Any ways I tacked her up and off we went, she was a little joggy as we came out the gate but once on the road she settled right down, we have to go over a M4 road motor way bridge to get to the decent hacking so i was a bit worried how she'd deal with that, well she was a diamond didn't even look at the cars whizzing under!
After that we had to go through a horse gate and trying to get that open it kept swinging back shut grr so i hopped off and walked her thru and hopped straight on again, we went up to the gallop tracks and had a lovely trot to the top! it was fab to be out, she was an angel, there was one sticky moment when some body in the distance was riding and leading a horse and the rider was having trouble with the horse they were leading and demi got all upperty and excited, and jogged so i just circled her in the stubble field til she listen again!!
On the way home she was an angel!! next time i will try some canters solo

cant wait til the next hack now xx
