First day ridden

Took the bull by the horns and rode him outside today on the road.

He's been out for loads of walks in hand along a lot of our ridden routes so he's met the Trowie that lives under the bridge, he knows about the wind turbines and the scary things.

He never batted an eyelid. The only thing that gave him away as a baby was his balance. Cars, tractors it was like riding one of the old riding school horses. He has a very wise old head on his young shoulders

At the moment he's taking all his cues from Hreyfing, she's showing him the way. :D
 
Ahh bless him. There's a girl on our yard with a really little pony,Bentley. I call him Baby Bentley cause he's always gonna look like a baby. Well she's going to back him in May. Can't wait to see him with someone on his back. [emoji4]

Is he an Icelandic? Do they still mature slowly like our native ponies do? X
 
Yes, they are slow maturers, This is the very start of his education. All he's going to do this year is 2-3 times a week is potter for half an hour on a loose rein.
