You may remember my telling you about Hreyfing, the little nutter horse my friend took on. Terrible reputation for bolting, She'd been trained hollow all her life and never taught to walk.

Anyway after 4 years of teaching her to slow down, walk, and start to lower her head at last her top line is beginning to develop. We have had a devil of a game with saddle with her. She was so hollow and had been ridden on overly narrow saddles she had quite pronounced wastage.

Anyway this last 6 months she has really learned to round up, stretch down and use her back and back end. ....which has resulted in another saddle not fitting properly. To allow her to muscle we have gone for a serge panel and we have had to go for a front gel pad riser, and her muscle has simply grown like Topsy......but one side more than the other.

We do know she had a history of being pulled over on the road due to her running off. She is very stiff one side. So she's being given the once over today see if we can find the root of the problem....we may never, she's an older horse now. But it's an interesting exercise.
