So excited to be back in school and to learn something new. Medium trot.

New excellent RI with detailed explanation and instructions how to ask for it and new horse - so I have nothing to compare it with.

Your experience and thoughts on Medium trot would be welcome.

I assumed it must be the speed that thrilled me - but I now suspect there was something else. That the special feel I got twice (once on each rein) was because lengthening the stride makes the trot smoother and it feels as if the horse is sailing along in a straight line with almost no ground contact.

Do you think this possible?

Rising Trot has never been my thing - but this was a revelation. Must look for a video -

My Fell pony will do medium trot when hacking out, if she "can't be bothered" cantering. She easily keeps up with her cantering companium, and the feeling of that medium trot just makes me go "Wow!"
