Hi All!

We're battling potential laminitis with a pony at the yard, fortunately we seem to be winning. She had a fatty deposit on her neck that spurred the worry, but after restricted grazing and extra exercise has gone 2 weeks later. However her owner isnt sure how to spot this again (it was me who did in the above) and she is confusing regular muscle with 'lami neck'. Has anyone got any pics of cresty, laminitic necks to help me explain the difference??

Thanks :)

i think most of these tend to be fatty, at least with your bog standard leisurely ponies .it would take quite a bit of strategic exercise to get a muscly crest on top of the neck i would have thought

Agree with Clava

It may be worth trying the pony on cinnamon regularly, I've not tried it myself yet but it's supposed to be excellent at helping shed those crests and keep them under control!
