Hi

I need to purchase a new bridle and was looking at the Frank Baines Converter Snaffle they look very good quality for a reasonable price. Been looking at the Comfort Bridles and there appears to be two different types Ones that have the fully enclosed comfort headstall these ones have the noseband actually attached on both sides that do up with a buckle on both sides and the top of the headstall is just one piece.

The other type are the ones that have the noseband that threads over the top of the padded headstall with one buckle on the side.

Is that the only difference ?

The other thing is that I wanted to purchase one of the Rope Nosebands either the JW one or one of these http://rjpolo.com/bridles10.html
Do you know if you can replace the noseband with any "normal" noseband and just thread it through the top of the comfort headstall. Obviously this will only be possible with the bridles where the noseband goes over the top of the headstall or you would have to buy a noseband that had a buckle on both sides to fit the fully enclosed comfort ones.

Cheers

Frankie Baines always "used" to have his bridle making workshop in Walsall nesxt to his saddle shop. His head bridle maker was a very good bloke.

What the situation is now is anyone's guess, you could phone him and ask him. THey used to be a good quality bridle.
