Ahhh, they are unbribable
I have done it the other way and it made her gain weight overnight.
Mine gains weight overnight whatever girth she has on!
It was a worry, I put him back into work in Feb and put his saddle and girth, same saddle cloth on, and was happy to see it was all fitting on exactly the same holes as it did when I roughed him off in Septamber last year. Pleased he had not lost weight over winter.
Then I lent one of my saddles to a friend to try out her now horse and we had to do some jiggery pokery with girths to get one to fit. I have a few girths of same style and make that are identical apart from length.
Tór has been back in work for a month so my shock at his sudden catastrophic weight loss was a worry, Got home and found HIS girth still on his saddle rack under where his saddle had been.
