I read this article today that my farrier shared, its an interesting read which raises more questions than it answers but I think worth taking 5 mins out so the you know the questions to ask your vet should the situation arise

Sorry posted the above before i'd finished, Yeah my cushings pony has arthritis, he is very old but i do not give any nsaids as I have seen it cause runny poo's and depression, he gets flax oil , he used to get turmeric and black ground pepper but then he suddenly refused to eat his feed. but i always think if its possible to try and find a more natural approach with horses as they are so sensitive to a change in diet etc although mine is on pergolide
